Ever feel like you would like to discuss important issues of our time, but need a framework and materials for having these discussions?  WasteCap Nebraska is now offering guided discussion courses on a variety of topics related to sustainability for a nominal fee. The first two course offerings are “Sustainable Systems at Work”, a five-session course designed to promote organizational sustainability initiatives in the workplace, and “Menu for the Future”, a six-session course exploring the connection between sustainability and our personal food choices.

Created by the Northwest Earth Institute, each course comes with a manual with reading materials and questions for a self-facilitated course experience. The discussion courses provide an enjoyable, supportive setting in which to examine personal values and habits, engage in stimulating conversation, create meaningful community, and consider ways to take action towards creating a more sustainable future.

Groups of 8 to 12 people are needed for the best outcomes. WasteCap will pair individuals with others to form discussion groups. Green teams or other groups are encouraged to participate. Courses cost between $20 and $35 per person, and WasteCap members receive a discount. Contact Julie Diegel at 402-434-7376 to register or for more information.
