Changes Coming to the Nebraska State Fair

The Nebraska State Fair will offer a Marketplace Sustainability Pavilion during this year’s fair, which runs Aug. 26 through Sept. 5.
Jamie Parr, fair facility manager, told board members at their monthly meeting Friday about the new pavilion, to be located in the Outdoor Marketplace area of the fairgrounds at Fonner Park. Parr said that the fair has received Nebraska Zero Waste status for the last two years.
“That zero waste status means we are diverting 90 percent of our waste from the landfills,” she said. “We want to keep that up and improve on it.”
