Friendship Home of Lincoln Achieves 4-star Rating from Charity Navigator

Friendship Home is one of only five charities in Lincoln and one of only twenty-five charities in Nebraska to receive Charity Navigator’s highest rating. Charity Navigator is the nation’s largest and most utilized evaluator of charitable organizations. They provide in-depth ratings and analysis of financial health, accountability, and transparency of selected charities. One of Charity Navigator’s main goals is to give donors┬áthe confidence in making wise and intelligent giving decisions while shining light on truly effective organizations.

Founded in 1978 by the Daughters of Charity and Catholic Social Services, Friendship Home started out as a short-term shelter for women. The main purpose of this shelter was to provide women and their children a place to stay when they came to Lincoln. By 1980, the Friendship Home had moved to a larger facility and narrowed its mission and values. Now a private non-profit organization, the Friendship Home now has multiple facilities as well as permanent emergency and long-term shelters.
