Electronics Update

New Computer Efficiency Requirements

In order to obtain the Energy Star rating, computers will have to meet new requirements set by the EPA. With these new requirements, computers will be 65% more efficient than other conventional computers.  This means that harmful greenhouse gas emissions will be prevented. It should also be noted that the computers are not only good for the environment, but could also be good for people's wallets. If businesses only purchase computers with the new Energy Star requirements, they are estimated to save $1.2 billion over the lifetime of the new computers. For more information about this announcement or to see Energy Star requirements please visit this website.
