This reduces unemployment rates and reliance on government assistance within the Lincoln community. Additionally, Goodwill maximizes local resources through massive recycling efforts of unsalable textiles and other products. The community can support Goodwill all year long by donating their gently-used items, shopping at Goodwill Stores and by making tax-deductible financial donations. The sale of donated goods remains the greatest source of funding for programs Goodwill provides.

Lincoln Recycles
The Public Works and Utilities, Solid Waste Management Division manages the City of Lincoln’s Recycling drop-off program which has 28 multi-material recycling drop-off sites in Lincoln and Lancaster County. Solid Waste Management also operates a yard waste composting facility that processes close to 20,000 tons of grass, leaves and wood waste per year. Central States Reprocessing (CSR)
Central States Reprocessing (CSR) has been in business in the Lincoln, Nebraska Air Park area for five years and has a service area of approximately a 500 mile radius from Lincoln, including Denver, CO and Des Moines, IA. CSR provides reprocessing, recycling and brokering services for plastics, primarily HDPE (#2) and PVC (#3), which comprise 80% of our business. CSR is currently the only company in Nebraska that reprocesses these plastics into 100% ready-to-use form. A primary goal of Central States Reprocessing is to keep materials that can be reprocessed or recycled out of landfills. In talking with local businesses, it was determined that people WANT to recycle, but have no practical way to do it. We strive to make it easy for environmentally-minded individuals and businesses to achieve their goals while we achieve ours.
